Marketing Yourself:
Intro to Career Preparations

Grades 9-12

Prerequisites: None

This course is designed as a portfolio-based personal development course for all students. Student will develop a systematic approach for evaluating and seeking career opportunities by discovering how personal qualities relate to successful performance.

This course is a recommended prerequisite to any career preparation program.

Advertising

Grades 10-12

1/2 credit

Prerequisites: None

This course focuses on the concepts and skills associated with the dynamic advertising industry. Students will learn the goals and objectives of advertising, identify and analyze advertisements, select media, and develop advertisements.
Professional Salesmanship

Grades 10-12

1/2 credit

Prerequisites: None

This course is designed to examine the process of making informative and persuasive presentations. Topics include identifying potential audiences, overcoming objections, and techniques used to close a sale. Students will develop skills for building effective relationships and will master persuasive communication techniques.
Marketing Education Career Preparation I

Grades 11-12

3 credit

Prerequisites: Minimum age of 16 at time of enrollment, application and teacher approval

This is an occupationally specific course designed to focus on the study of marketing concepts and principles and their practical applications. Students will gain a working knowledge of the marketing concept and its application
Marketing Education Career Preparation II

Grades 11-12

3 credit

Prerequisites: Minimum age of 16 at time of enrollment, Marketing Career Preparation I and teacher approval

This is an advanced work-based marketing course with an emphasis on developing decision-making skills.
